I. The Foundation of God — The New Covenant is a Marriage Covenant...

I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes. Romans 1:16

The Goldens use the Scripture to build a strong foundation for the incredible claims of the Gospel.  When Jim was a young man he heard a preacher say, "If the Gospel is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes, then it is the power, there is no the'er power, it's the power!  The dynamite of the word explodes as he reveals the work of the cross.  Jim has a unique anointing to reveal God's pattern Son.  Jesus is an example of what being born again really means.  One thing is for certain, you will come away with a greater appreciation for what Jesus accomplished on your behalf.  The Gospel is the only true basis for change in the life of the Christian, no matter what the need is.

II. The Language of God — The Only Positive Creative Force...

Gen 1:1-3 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

As God's children we all go through a process of learning to speak a new language.  God is a spiritual being and speaks a spiritual language.  Jesus said, "The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing.  The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.”  Some call this the language of faith.  But Jim & Terry take Their listeners far past simply reciting Scripture into receiving understanding of what it means that we are truly spiritual children of God.  Just like children we speak very badly at first but sooner or later we begin to understand our new heavenly Father's language.  Then, like Jesus we can actually begin to speak the language of God over every situation in life.

It is amazing to see the incredible and swift changes that start to take place as we embrace the truth of the new creation we have become in Christ.  Paul agrees with this when he says that his words were in a demonstration of the Spirit's power and not in mere words of man's wisdom.  In order to speak God's language you must not only be able to hear His voice but you need to be able to see with His eyes.  God sees the end of the matter from the beginning.

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.

In the restoration process of a marriage it is vital that we recognize God's truth over the enemy's deception.  Our God gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they are.  Then Jesus said, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

 

III. The Language of Satan — A Destructive Force...

John 8:44:  You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Just as God is a spiritual being and speaks a creative language, so Satan is a spiritual being and has successfully grasped the principle of creation through language.  Unlike God who can bring beauty, peace, and order out of darkness and chaos, Satan's language can only create destruction.

One of Satan's most effective tools is his ability to imitate God. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.  Listen to what Isaiah the prophet has to say about Satan's scheme. 

How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn!  You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!  You said in your heart, "I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain.  I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High."

Jim & Terry delight in exposing and destroying the work of the devil in the lives of married couples.  They believe that this is one of the reasons Jesus was revealed.  It is still one of the reasons He shows up in their meetings. 

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: "Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. (We can cast him down in our lives right now).

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. The question they ask is, “Can a believer be an unbeliever?”  The answer is no.  But, while there are two absolutely different creations, the Christian who doesn't know the different between God's language and the accuser’s language can be duped and have the fruit of God's salvation stolen from their marriage.

Whoever hates his/her brother/sister (spouse) is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness; he/she does not know where he/she is going, because the darkness has blinded him/her.

IV. Dealing with the Past — Buried Forever...

Romans 6:6:  For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin-

One of the most important aspects of restoration of the marriage relationship is dealing with the past.  The Goldens reveal the truth of the Gospel and the daily cross on which we must put to death all the failures and shortcomings of yesterday.  This isn't an option it is God's salvation, and we must enter into it if we want to be truly born-again.

  V. Looking to the Future — Hope In Our Heavenly Lover Alone...

John 8:31-32 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.  Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

Hope is one of the most powerful keys in the kingdom of God. Jim & Terry have an anointing from God to bathe His children in hope.  Another powerful weapon of Satan is discouragement. Discourage means to take courage from.  Our God is called the God of all encouragement.  Encourage means to put courage into.  As they reveal God's truth you will find your future taking on a whole new light.  Hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.  You will be saying with King David, I am still confident of this:  I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.  You will begin to embrace the revelation of Jeremiah, “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

VI. Repentance - Changing Your Mind...

Rom 12:1-2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Wrapping up the session, the Goldens put forth a clear-cut definition of the absolute need for repentance.  Repentance means to change your mind.  Just like you change a tire on an automobile.  We must trade in the double mind that listens to Satan's language and God's language, for a mind that only allows God's truth to flow through it.

VII. Personal Prayer & Ministry* — Releasing The Fire of God's Love...

Jim & Terry move in the prophetic realm with healing, deliverance and word of knowledge to support the ministry of the word of God.  Personal counseling is available through the permission and under the covering of the local pastoral staff only.   They are convinced that God will demonstrate His power and that those who hear the Word will receive a fiery baptism of God's cleansing, tenderizing and enabling love.  (The Article)
