The Light Inside

John 11:10 GWT
I have read this chapter of John hundreds of times and never caught the significance of this verse until I read it in this translation. The part that jumped out to me was "because they have no light in themselves." How often we have valiantly battled sin and temptation. We win some of the battles and loose some, but there isn't the kind of consistency we would or should expect because our focus is on the sin or temptation all too often instead of the light
within ourselves.Jesus has actually taken up residence within each believer and it is in, that fact or truth that we need to invest the measure of faith that He has given us. If we invest our faith in Him we actually stand a chance of living in victory. Victory over sin, over sickness and the onslaught of distractions designed to divert our attention from the true source of victory and vindication--Jesus within--the hope of Glory! Unlike the “leaven of the Pharisees, He is the “good yeast” that will change the whole lump of dough into something whole and glorious.
We have a light within us so bright that it can blind all those with sight and give sight to the sightless. It is a the light that enlightens every one who comes into the world and will lead us through any and all “darkness” we encounter on our pilgrimage through this world as we renew our minds on the truth. Our greatest struggle will be to believe that it is really true. Jesus really lives within us and nothing is more powerful than Him! To me it seems so much
easier to meditate on this truth than all the other truths and promises in our little promise boxes. There are countless books written about how to get your healing, but wouldn’t you rather get your healer?We are a people who are to be marked by the presence of God. It is His presence that is to set us apart from all the other people on earth, but too often when we think of His presence we think of it as something outside us affecting us and those around us in the sense realm. While that is true and exciting it is His presence within us that satisfies our true thirst. It is His presence within that actually transforms us, heals us, delivers us and causes us to walk in
holiness and victory. It is His presence within us not outside us that changes us into bread of presence, the Bread of His Presence!
