Introduction
Welcome to the section of our website that presents the newsletters of Espousal Ministries. Espousal's burden was the same as the Apostle Paul's in II Corinthians 11:2-3. As we look at the Church today we believe that her greatest need is to return to the purity and simplicity of devotion to her Bridegroom, Jesus Christ. No other revelation of the redeemed community of believers is more needed than that of the Bride of Christ. It is the reason that God created humankind — to call out from her His chosen one, His Bride!
We believe that all the other expressions of His Church, i.e. the body, the army, the tabernacle, the...so on and so forth are as valid as ever, but it is the Spirit and the Bride that say come, not the Spirit and Army of God. It is this revelation of the Bride of Christ that Espousal devoted itself to bringing to the Body of Christ. As a result DragonSlayer is pleased to reprint theses newsletter articles.
When Espousal was originally formed our main thrust was to encourage unity in the Body of Christ. Espousal, however, came to realize, that is not something to be achieved, but recognized. We believe that the revelation of the burning and passionate love that Jesus, our Bridegroom, has for His Bride, the Church will bring us one step closer on our journey from revelation to reality.
As in earthly marriages, the Scripture instructs us not to be unequally yoked, so it is to be with Christ and His Bride. There is a way to walk with Jesus equally yoked. It is possible for His Bride to be a true "help-meet" to her Husband in this age and usher in the return of the lover of her soul.
Jesus has always desired a Bride to rule and reign with Him and to love His Father with the same voluntary love He loves Him with. Someone said it takes God's love to love God. How true that is — we love Him because He first loved us.
We believe that God is pouring out a fresh Baptism of fiery, passionate love for His Son Jesus, on a people who long for more intimacy and reality in their Christian life. It is only the Bride that can satisfy the passionate longing of our Lord & Savior. Please stand with us at DragonSlayer in prayer for the grace to see this vision come to pass and to be used by God as a facilitating force. We want to serve the purpose of God in our generation and see days of heaven come on the earth.
